2016 Success Story

Summer of 2016 was a great example of the summer reading incentive in action.  Above on our enormous white board you can see how I kept track of everything.  The *High Score* box indicated hot most days we had gone in a row without breaking the chain (our highest that summer was 8).  The *Current Progress* was how many days we had gone without breaking that particular chain.  The *Days to Go* and the box with the stars show how many days of summer reading we have left.

Below that are their allowance and chore charts, I just thought it was easier to have everything al on one place.  Our allowance system is a little complicated so I won't get into that now.

Keep in mind that I did not require reading on the weekends or during trips because it was too much for them, that's why the number of days is so low.

This is our prize spinner.  I used the back of a pizza box.  Some of the slices are larger than others in order to truly randomize it.  I don't use this anymore because there were too many options, but it was fun to spin every night and see where we landed for a prize.  Their favorite?  Kid's choice for dinner!
